Purple Hull Peas

When I was young I remember my parents bought home 2 garbage bags full of purple hull peas. We all sat around our family room with bowls and shelled peas. I remember mom putting them up and us eating them forever! They were soo good. I found the purple hull peas for sale for planting at Sweet Organic Solutions in Pearland, Texas. I planted these and they are doing great. I have been harvesting them. The first pod I shelled, I put in a cereal bowl of water, cover with saran wrap and boiled in the microwave for a few minutes. I couldn’t wait to taste them… they were delicious just like I remembered! How fun it has been growing them!!
