Green Smoothie Recipe

  • I love to drink these smoothies for breakfast. Some of the benefits of drinking green smoothies is that I don’t want to eat junk food, have more energy and my skin is healthier. I first got started drinking green smoothies when my sister invited me to hear The Green Smoothie Girl speak at an event. After getting hooked on them and buying greens everyday, I was inspired to start my garden. I wasn’t always a gardener, but have found lots of success this past year in large part to my new garden design. I never have to pull a weed, and that and other benefits to my design has really helped me keep my garden going for a full year.  For the full story about how I came to design my garden,  Read about it here. Check out The Green Smoothie Girl and if she is traveling in your area I would recommend attending one of her events. Look around my website to see what else I grow, and if you have struggled with gardening in the past, maybe my new way of gardening will be as easy for you as it has been for me.

    Green Smoothie

2 cups greens (Kale, spinach, collards, swiss chard)
    1 and 1/2 cups ice
    1 cup water
    1-2 bananas
    1 apple
    1-2 cups frozen fruit
    1 scoop of stevia powder

Put in a Blendtec or Vitamix Blender and enjoy! This makes enough to put in the fridge and drink it throughout the day or share with someone.

  • Your green smoothie looks gorgeous and doable. If the bananas are sweet enough I can imagine that I could even leave out the Stevia. Will try it soon. Thank you for sharing:)
