Purple hull peas

  • This is my second bath of purple hull peas. The first ones were crowded in a bed with not much room to spread out. I planted these in a tub all to themselves and they are doing great. They look like little antennas poking out of the pack. The pea pods are small and green and first and then turn a dark purple. They are delicious when you shell them and boil them on the stove. I can’t wait to eat them! If you grew up in the 70’s in Texas… you have gotta love em!

this is the start of the pea pod – it makes a purple flower
