Tomato family growing

  • My tomato family on the trellis is getting bigger. For the first few weeks I trimmed back the extra leaves on the bottom of the plants. I tied them up to the trellis as soon as it was big enough to be pulled over. After the plants are loosely tied at the base, they will grow up the trellis. Tomato plants tend to get heavy when the tomatoes come, so it is important to keep tying them up along the way. Don’t be shy about pulling off extra leaves, it will grow and produce fine without them. I already have little yellow flower blossoms on the tomatoes by my bok choy. Maybe that is the early girl variety? I regret not knowing which is which, I guess I will just have to be surprised when the tomatoes come.
