Blackberry harvest and garden pics!

  • I have been super busy enjoying my summer! This little break from teaching school has been wonderful. I picked blackberries last week with my grandson and he loved eating them. My potatoes are growing weird – tall and falling over? Not sure about them… Okra is coming up and my tomatoes and peppers are yummy. Happy summer to you!

Purchased your plans last year but did not get to building the gardens till this year. Best garden I have had ever. Have green beans ,summer squash, strawberries , chard, potatoes corn, raspberries ,tomatoes and butternut squash all growing like wildfire. Thanks for sharing you great idea!!

  • Pat,
Yeah! I am glad you have a successful garden! I love mine too! Thanks for taking the time to share what you are growing, I love it!
    Best wishes,
    Melanie

  • What state and city do you garden? I live in AZ.

  • Melanie,
I had your raised beds built and I am having two more built for next Spring. I grew broccoli, Brussels sprouts, eggplants and three kinds of peppers. I live in Davenport, Iowa and that is Zone 5B and my question is- what kind of luck will I have trying to grow strawberries? I fear the shallow growing medium will freeze in our climate and I will have to replace the plants every year even though the raised beds are a wonderful idea for everything I wanted off the ground because at my age it it hard to bend over for long periods of time. Loved those raised beds!!!
