Spring/summer garden week two

  • Just sharing a few pictures of week two of my spring/summer garden. I didn’t realize how much I missed being in my garden everyday. Everything grows so fast, the miracle of it all is so fun to watch. Before long the whole thing will be big and bushy. Happy Spring to you! ~Melanie

how many tomato and pepper plants can I fit in one bin?

  • Lauren,
I usually put about six plants per bin. Three in the back and three in the front, but not all tomatoes. I would say three tomatoes at the most.
I have tomatoes and onions in a few and some peppers and cucumbers too.
    Good luck!

  • Hey Melanie, thanks for creating and keeping up with this sight. Its a greatly informative resource that keeps the garden simple and inspiring. I am curious what size your bins are? I also noticed that they didn’t look very deep. The size of your plants when mature in spring is impressive. Do you think it is the amount of trellised space they have to grow up that makes the shallower bead depth work so well?
    Thank you,
    Katie 🙂
