Flowers and backberries

  • I have never grown flowers before, but after planting some bulbs in my winter garden, I decided to dedicate a box just for flowers. It will be nice this summer to have flowers in vases to decorate the house and I am going to love seeing them in my garden. I planted sweet pea, sunflower and zinnia seeds. They are all coming up nicely! I planted marigolds at the base of my tomatoes because I have heard that they help keep bugs away. The blackberry bush is climbing and I intertwine the ends of the runners into the wire trellis every few days. Some blackberries are starting to turn purple! So excited for blackberries soon!
