My Mom LOVES to garden. Lately though she is having trouble getting up and down, even with standard raised beds. I have been searching on the internet for alternate ideas for gardening. Your Raised Urban Gardens plans look like a perfect solution. Would love to be able to give her a set for Mother’s Day!

  • My Mom is always very thoughtful and supportive

  • Connie,
My mom is the same! She is my number one fan when I try something new.
    good luck!

  • My Mom has been gone for almost seven years now, but my Mother-in-Law is one of a kind. My husband and I have recently begun taking care of her yard, and she has always wanted to have a garden, but due to medical problems couldn’t get down to care from one. This type of garden would be perfect!

  • These are great for mother-in-laws too! My mother-in-law has one and loves it – actually my father-in-law loves it the most. It is nice for older people that don’t like to bend over much.
    good luck!

  • My mom has been gone for 8 yrs already But my mother in-law is GREAT!!! so thought full and loving and she loves garding, but at age 82 its getting to hard to do the old way of gardning This type of gardning would be great for her.

  • My mom passed away a few years ago, and I miss her so much…. she LOVED gardening and had tons of flowers and trees. Her yard always looked like a park.

  • Happy Mother’s Day!
My mom loves fresh produce – my family actually lives overseas right now where they buy fresh produce everyday – but having a home garden would be even more awesome.

My mom knew I would be a gardener because I always liked to dig in the dirt. One of her favorite pictures of me is as a three year old playing in a planter box. I love the fact that mom loved her rose garden for years and a typical Mother’s Day gift was a new rosebush. Now her back problems prevent her from doing traditional gardening but a raised garden bed would raise her spirits!

  • Happy Mother’s Day!

  • My mom is the best and she practically lives outside in the spring and summer. She can’t bend over or kneel because of health issues, so a raised garden would be ideal for her. I would love to be able to surprise her by building one!

    Happy Mother’s Day!

  • Love that my mom loves me even when I can’t seem to love myself. She is always there.

  • my mom taught me how to love, laugh, work hard and enjoy being creative. Happy Mothers Day!

  • My mom is the greatest ever to me. If anything and everything happens, I can always call or go over to her house and makes everything better. I love my mama!

  • I would love to build and use one of these with my 3 year old grandaughter!

  • My mother works two jobs and with summer just around the corner she is looking forward on working on her garden again when she has a day off.Her garden is simple and it’s her heaven on earth.

  • I love my Mom because she loved me even though I lost my brain until I was 30. (Yup…slow learner.) Now we have so many awesome coconversations and I call her 2 to 3 times a week now. She used to work so hard in the garden when we were kids. Most of the backyard was garden. Lots of yummy stuff! Then it was canning and freezing. She took good care of us. 🙂 ♡

  • I love my Mom because she loved me even though I lost my brain until I was 30! (Yes, I was a slow learner.) Now we talk 2-3 times per week (we don’t live in the same city), and have many wonderful conversations. Mom used to work so hard in the garden. Most of our backyard was garden! Then it was lots of canning and freezing to preserve what she worked so hard to grow for us. Many fond memories. The urban raised beds looks like a brilliant idea! We are on the main floor of an apartment condo, and I think this would work BRILLIANTLY.

    Thanks!

    Velma

  • Happy mothers day!
I’m planing building a garden at my mom’s home, and your blog is being so helpful and inspirational! Keep up the good work 🙂

  • Joy

Love gardening and I would love to do something like this for my mom, she is a breast cancer survivor and is one of a kind, would do anything for anybody.

  • I used to garden with my mom as a little girl. We would be on our hands and knees planting, weeding, pruning, and harvesting (sometimes directly into our mouths). Unfortunately time move on and your body becomes less cooperative and Bering on your knees for hours on end is not possible …you may even get stuck down there.

My mom has a number of health issues that have prevented her from working out in the garden. I know that if she had a way to garden where she can sit in a chair while tending to her flowers, fruits, and vegetables it would allow her to regain her sense of joy and productivity that gardening gives to her.

Winning these gardening plans would be the best Mother’s Day present! I will give her something to look forward to do with her daughter that hes not happened on a long time.

Thank you so much for sharing this opportunity with us!

  • What a fantastic idea and such a generous giveaway! My 25 year old daughter was born with arthritis and this would be absolutly perfect for her! Thank you for designing this!!!

  • Such a great idea! We are wanting to do a tribute garden for my Mom, who passed away. Her name was Grace & we want to call it our Amazing Grace Garden.
Love your creativity! I aspire to create what I can create on canvas into a garden. We can dream, right?! LOL

  • My mom is amazing. She Loves to garden! She taught all her 15 kids to love gardening and this would be a perfect way for her to continue gardening!

  • My MIL would love this!!!

  • Happy Mother’s Day! 🙂

  • I am out of town visiting my daughter in college and have loved all the comments! Thanks for sharing what inspires you and stories of your mothers. Good luck and wishing you a happy day!

  • My mom loves fresh veggies and having her own garden would thrill her!

  • What a great idea! My mother has been through so much in her life and gardening is her outlet. Though she tries, severe arthritis prevents her from really being able to get down close to the ground like she used to. This would allow her to safely do her gardening without the having to spend the follwing two days suffering in pain as a result.

  • I love my mom!!! She is always doing things for other people, Love helping her out when I get a chance!

  • my mom would love this for mothers day… good luck all

  • Happy Mother’s Day! My mother passed away when I was 16 and I still miss her everyday! As a mother of three beautiful daughters myself now, I would love to share my mothers love and passion for gardening that she instilled in all of us. These raised bed designs look perfect to try with my girls! Thanks so much for this opportunity to try!

  • What a beautiful idea! Love raised garden beds. My Mom and Grandma are HUGELY into gardening, and as a little girl I always turned my nose up at it–I always thought I would be the one to break the family tradition. But this year I’ve gotten really interested in gardening–I look forwards to this summer so my Mom can teach me all that she knows!

  • dee

Happy Mother’s Day!! My Mom always had a very large garden until recent years. She is 84 years old now and is unable to garden the traditional way. I would love for her to be able to have fresh vegetables like she used to grow.

  • fantastic idea…..would love to have a garden once again……!!!!!!!!

  • My Mother lost her sister at Christmas to cancer. My Aunt was cremated and my Mother struggles to find closure. A garden like this would truly be a memorial for her, as my Aunt gardened every inch of her land. This type of garden would make gardening more manageable for my Mother. She struggles with several health issues and I would Love to be able to give this to her!

  • How great is this?! I placed my first order for 100% non-gmo seeds and I’m so excited about getting started with my first garden with real food!

  • I would love to be able to give this to my mom. She and I are both interested in growing our own organic gmo-free veggies and fruits. This would be a great start!

  • HO! She will LOVE it!

  • My mother was a perfectionist in all she did. She was a pianist, an organist, a home economics teacher, a school dietician and a piano teacher, just to name a few of her endeavors. All of her efforts, many of which were undertaken to provide college funds for my brother and me, were directed in the best interest of her family. I didn’t agree with everything she did but I never questioned her love for me.

  • My mother passed away 4 years ago, but I still keep up her garden where my brother now lives. She wanted a flower garden for her 80th birthday, so I “made” one for her right outside her kitchen window where she could see it from many angles. She absolutely adored it and would take pictures with her Kodak camera, make several copies and send them to all of her friends! It gives me pleasure to go back there each spring and plant her favorite annuals. I can still see her sitting in the chair next to me as I planted away!

  • I have always wanted to try growing a garden

  • My mom has been gone 6 months now but I would love to do this with my dad!

  • My mom is my best friend and hero. Her and I just spent the evening weeding my flower beds together. She said we make a great team. I would LOVE to be able to share vegetable gardening with her. She says it is to much work but I think with a system like this she wood enjoy fresh vegetables. “Happy Mothers Day”

  • This would be a great gift for me and my mom to enjoy. My mom is my best friend and hero, She was just at my house this evening helping me weed my flower beds. Why we were weeding she said we make a great team. We have never tried growing our own vegetable garden but I think we would enjoy growing one together. Happy Mothers Day to Everyone and Happy Gardening!!!

  • Happy Mother’s Day!

  • My mom is my hero. She is an awesome role model for me and my family. She gardens, makes most everything homemade, feeds the homeless weekly and is always always always thinking of ways to help others. I will forever strive to be even 1/2 the woman she is! Her kids, grandkids and greatkids are everything to her. She is the best!

  • My mom is always there for her kids. She is willing to drop everything for us! She is planning on making a garden at some point in the next year, so this would be a wonderful gift.

  • My mom is super fun! She is the best grandma and I love talking to her.

  • Ann

My mom is going through a depression right now. My dad passed away several years ago and after 60 years of marriage, it is difficult for her to go through life alone. I think this type of gardening would suit her just right.

  • Ann

    My mum would love this!

  • What a fantastic idea for Mother’s Day! I would LOVE to be able to build a few of these for my mom. She loves to garden but bending down is becoming a problem. No bending with this! Would also keep some of the 4 legged critters out of the plants.

  • My mother was an amazing kind hearted person. She was one to always listen and loved you no matter what. It is hard to believe that she has been gone 10 years already and while my daughters had the joy of knowing and learning and loving her and her love of gardening. I am trying to share all of that with our five little granddaughters. Miss her so much but have been so blessed by her love!

  • My mom was the best! Every Mother’s Day I would give her plants which I had grown from seed for her to be planted into her garden-mainly tomatoes and peppers. We both received as much enjoyment as the other from this-me growing & giving and her receiving. Miss you Mom! Love Ya!

  • Happy Mother’s Day to my lovely mom!! My mom is an amazing woman. She is always busy creating something and freely shares her talents with others. It would be wonderful to build her a raised garden because where she lives every critter wants to make a home in her veggies! My mom has always designed, knit, crocheted, sewn, built, made, grown, canned, cooked…everything. This would just be a fun and innovative way to help her continue to do what she loves!

  • Happy Mother’s Day to my mom who I love so much. And who still happens to always be right 🙂

  • Meg

Happy Mother’s Day! I love your garden plans!

  • I’m putting in a monster mother/daughter garden to share with my adult children.

  • I really don’t have a mom, but my step mom is like my mom. She has always had the best interest of my family at heart, and I love her as if she were my God given mom. Happy Mothers Day Nana!

  • My mother is 78 years old. She has had 11 children which she has raised with love and care, while keeping three meals on the table a day, our clothes clean and ironed .
She taught us about God and morals, like never lay down at night md at someone you may not have a chance to change your last words .
My mother has COPD, heart problems, arthritis, had a knee replacement and if you want to find her in the spring or summer well you better look in her yard not in the house
because my Mom will be digging in the dirt, pulling weeds or watering her flowers.
You could say we grew up poor. I say I grew up rich with lots of love!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE MY Mom..<3

  • My mom has dementia, so I only have the memory of how she was, although her body is physically here on earth. I’d like to build a raised flower bed in her honor. She loved plants and flowers, and it would be great to create something with just her in mind.
My mom showered my sisters and I with lots of love, although we didn’t have much growing up – I knew there was nothing I couldn’t do in life, because she gave me so much confidence and love as a child.
I miss her terribly. This would be a happy way to keep her near and dear to my heart.
Thanks for considering me for the giveaway.
    Most Sincerely,
    Michelle Platt

  • I would love to honor my mother and mother-in-law, who passed last June with this to create a garden to share goodies with others. And grow some pretty flowers too. We are retired and are moving to a tiny house/yard in a couple of weeks. This would be perfect for our new backyard. Thanks for doing this contest.

  • I have come to appreciate my mom more and more as the years go on. And my MIL loves to garden. I have loved coming across your blog and learning that gardening isn’t nearly as intimidating as I thought. And this would be such a great thing not only to be able to share with my MIL but my children as well! Thank you for sharing not only your passion with us, but your knowledge and experience as well!

  • My mom whom lives at home and is wheelchair bound loves to garden but over the years the task of reaching and bending over with tools and such have put a strain on her love of gardening.I would love for her to have a raised bed she could manage. She is and always has been a great mom! But aren’t all moms?

  • I am a mom and in home daycare teacher that plants gardens every year with my preschoolers. We always try something new each year. We have always used raised beds but nothing like these. So cool!!!!

  • Well we actually are building a raised garden and we don’t have plans so winning a kit would be awesome! Happy Mother’s Day to all!

  • I would love this!

  • We just started a garden this year. It is really fun and healthy to do with the kids. I love teaching them about the benefits of growing your own foods.

  • My mom has always supported me. Even in my never ending quest convincing her to raise chickens. 😉

  • MOM is da Bomb!

  • My mom passed away when I was 12, and blessed as I am two family Aunties came to my side. I sent them Mother’s Day cards every year until last when they too passed. I have memories of having three moms and a loving Italian grandmom. Our yard was a LARGE and IN CHARGE garden full of chores, great home grown treats and a gift of gardening that I have passed on to my two children! Thank you for your support as I learn new things, try inventive ideas, and enjoy the world of growing!

  • We recently moved into our new house with hesitation from my mom. She was worried about not having a spot for her garden. My dad convinced her he would eventually cut down some trees so she could have a sunny location to plant one. She had approx. 30-40 pots on our deck of diff types of tomatoes and every color and kind of pepper, potatoes (the yield was not very good at all) strawberries, etc. she spent a lot of hours clipping branches off trees and digging up grass to plant a small garden with corn, melons, squash but the garden didn’t produce anything. She has been very sad. My dad has been keeping his promise and my mom is counting the days until she gets to put a garden in. She has mentioned a raised bed garden to help with the attractiveness of the yard her garden is going to be where everyone will be able to see it. She would love these raised garden plans and would definitely ensure things were done right I’m excited for anyone who may win this nice mothers day prize. Thanks for offering the gift.

    Lucky daughter

  • I have a mom who really loves her garden. After being hurt she can’t work with flowers or vegetables or any of the things she would do
There were always flowers in our house my mom would carry them in. I would love to see my mom have a raised bed she can sit on and be able to do what she loves so much. My mom shared with family the neihbors and people she worked with. This was something her grandma taught her to do. I know there are alot of great moms. I just know how much this would mean to her and my dad who just retired. Who ever wins I am so happy for you. Crystyll Robinett

  • my mom will be moving into her new home in the new state if Idaho. She’s already getting excited about putting in raised flower and veg beds. I’d love to be able to help her in the garden but I had major back surgery last May and I feel the only way I could be of some help to her would be with having raised beds also. What better way to make a new house feel like home but through a beautiful garden. Thanks for this opportunity Susan McGee
